There is a direct shuttle bus at the disposal of travellers and visitors so that they can go from terminal 1 to terminal 2 of Sofia airport (or take the reverse journey). Even when this distance is not too long, it can be difficult to cover on foot, especially if you are carrying several pieces of luggage. The service runs from 7am to 7pm every day and is free of charge, but take into account the fact that if you miss a bus, your wait for the next one will last about thirty minutes.
Which terminal in Sofia airport should I go to?

Public transportation from the airport to Sofia city centre in Bulgaria
By subway: In order to travel to central Sofia from the airport, arriving passengers must head towards Sofia airport metro station located in T2, purchase their ticket from the vending machines and hop on metro line 1. This service operates between 5:30 am and midnight every day, and it takes only eighteen minutes to reach the downtown. To connect with the main bus and train stations in Sofia, Bulgaria, you are advised to change trains in Serdika station and get on line 2, while other stops along the way of line 1 like Iskarsko shosse allows you to transfer to the Sofia-Plodiv and Sofia-Karlov lines.
By bus: There are two bus lines covering the route between Sofia airport and the city continuously throughout the day; thus, route 84 offers a round trip from central Sofia in Bulgaria to Terminal 2, Terminal 1 and back, and route 84 travels from the city centre to Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and back. In order to get your tickets, look for urban mobility kiosks in the public areas.
