In Ma y of 2022, while on a work trip, I biked three of the 18 Trempealeau Trails Bicycle Association’s Loops. The bicycle loops range from 16 – 56 miles with a range of different elevations. I rode these routes around 5-7 p.m. each night and encountered almost no traffic at all.

I chose to ride three of the shorter loops with less elevation. The Sweet and Simple route, Amish Country Cruising and Easy Does It.
“Sweet and Simple”
The Sweet and Simple route, loop #1, starts in Trempealeau and heads toward Galesville. The biggest climb is right after Galesville before flattening out for the ride back to Trempealeau. This was my first ride in Wisconsin on this trip and I was just completely amazed at the beautiful scenery, smooth paved roads and very little traffic.

“Amish Country Cruising”
The Amish Country Cruising route, loop #17, starts in Whitehall and heads through Coral City and then Blair, before looping back to Whitehall. The scenery on this route was absolutely stunning and included every baby farm animal you can imagine. I tried to take fewer photos on this route to be respectful of the Amish. Every farm had lots of activities with people planting gardens, plowing a garden with a plow pulled by houses and other work. Lots of friendly smiles and waves long this route!

“Easy Does It”
The Easy Does It route, loop #8, starts in Whitehall and heads toward Independence. The route follows North River Road which is very scenic.
