The feeling of burning, itching, or tingling in any part of your body could be very unsettling especially in the areas you use often. My mouth is one of my most used body parts and I go crazy if something changes or affects the way I use my mouth. Two very common mouth diseases that I would hate to happen to me and  that look and feels the same are Cold Sores and Canker Sores.

Cold sores are blisters that form on and around your lips. This is often scratchy and painful. This is caused by the herpes simplex virus, a virus that can be transmitted orally (eg. Kissing). Extreme weather conditions can make the situation worse when it comes to Cold Sores. Cold compress can cool down Cold Sores and could help it heal faster

Canker sores on the other hand are lesions that come in a white color with a red border and can be commonly found in the gums, lips, or cheeks. This type of sores are not caused by any virus but are caused by trauma. Unlike cold sore, canker sores only occur inside the mouth and not outside.  Not knowing what causes  certain illnesses and where it came from drives me mad. My being well informed is the first step that I take to protect myself from any illnesses that may come my way. What about you? What do you do to stay ahead of being dead?
