  1. You know those flying tips lists that you find on Facebook that have been written by flight attendants? Every one of them say not to drink water from the on board tanks because they almost never clean out the water tanks and you could get sick from it. So avoid teas and coffee while flying, stick to bottles or cans of drink. Can save you from getting a stomach bug for the first part of your holiday.

  2. I feel like a bit of an asshole when your screen tells me to subscribe and I can’t because I already did. Every video I feel like I’ve let you down. Sigh.

  3. As an Aussie can I just say welcome, watch that sun when you get here, there is beautiful scenery wherever you go in Australia if you take your time…

  4. I hope you and Yoseph have a great trip! Great advise in this video. I’ve been thinking of starting to use packing cubes and this really helped to show how efficient they make the packing process. I also, like that you link everything in the description box. If you are going to buy some cubes for Yosef, can I suggest the brand I’m going to use in return for all of the helpful suggestions that you make? They’re on Amazon in the Tripped Travel Gear store. I bought one of their backpacks before as I’m a fan of their YouTube channel. Very good quality at a good price. I hope I’m not spamming you it’s just that your use of packing cubes brought it to mind.

  5. Are you going to get an Akubra hat while in Australia? They’re a bit expensive but they’ll last longer than you if you look after them.

Some places in Sydney that I recommend:
Walk around Darling Harbour for a day. It’s a long walk, but it’s a nice one to stroll along, so wear comfy shoes. I’d recommend doing it around new year’s eve, there’ll be plenty of people and events on to see while you walk around. Go by public transport, it’s not worth it to go by car or taxi. Great place to start is the Chinese Gardens of Friendship, they’re absolutely beautiful. Then wander along the water north, there’s the maritime museum on the west (left) side of the bay, and the Sydney Aquarium on the east side. It’s all walkable, so you can see both, but I’d recommend going to the maritime museum first, as the walk continues on past the aquarium and you’ll be walking the same ground twice if you did it the other way around. From there you’ll be walking along the King Street Wharf, through Brangaroo Reserve, along the water and under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There’s shops and restaurants everywhere along this walk, so take a break whenever you need, but the best place to stop for a meal is in The Rocks. A local favourite is Pancakes On The Rocks, but there’s heaps of places around the area that do great food and drinks, there’s sometimes a market on Atherden St off George Street, but aside from those places, stick next to the water and just follow it along. Keep an eye out for manhole covers in this area, as they’ve put an attraction on them called Writers Walk. Every manhole cover has a different quote or poem from a famous writer, mostly Australian ones, but a few from writers who visited and loved the country. My personal favourite is Dorothea Mackellar’s poem My Country:
    I love a sunburnt country,
    A land of sweeping planes,
    Of ragged mountain ranges,
    Of droughts and flooding rains.
    I love her far horizons,
    I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror –
The wide brown land for me!

The area is called Circular Quay, and it’s the central hub of the ferries that transport people around the harbour. Just follow it along for a bit and you’ll get to the Sydney Opera House, a must see for any visitor. Just past that is the Royal Botanic Gardens and Mrs Macquarie’s chair, finishing with Woolloomooloo and Garden Island. If you’re staying in the city for the fireworks on New Year’s eve, the Opera House or the Botanic Gardens have amazing views of it. It gets incredibly crowded for the fireworks, so don’t be surprised if the good spots to watch it get taken early. But, if you’re doing this walk on another day, there’s buses everywhere that can take you to the train stations and from there back to wherever you’re staying. I don’t know, and you probably shouldn’t say where you’ll be staying specifically until after you leave, but the ferries, especially the river cats (catamarans) are a lovely way to travel in Sydney, so if you’re staying along the Parramatta River, or even in Parramatta, where the ferry line starts, taking the ferry into the city is a lovely trip and drops you off at Circular Quay near the Opera House. From there you can do as much or as little of the walk I just described as you want.

  6. I go to Aus annually and 100% back up your packing tips! One thing though- make sure your electronics can plug into the country you’re going to’s plugs and can handle different voltage. A plug converter =/= a voltage converter. Keep one or two in your carry on and another one in your checked bag.

  7. I travel a lot for work & I must agree the packing cubes + individual bags are great. As well as the steamer if your hotel doesn’t have one & the tide pen.

  8. I always travel with a steamer! And Colgate whisps are always in my everyday handbag. PrePandemic I traveled a lot for work I could pack in 20 minutes for a week. I even got dresses sorted into the mix. But I ALWAYS packed into my carryon a tiny moisture mist just to freshen my dry face! Have a terrific trip!!!

  9. take all due precautions lassie …by george maturing to perfection …must be more lassies like you in ireland 🥰😍😇
