With

the U.K. now out of lockdown, there is hope (and some trepidation) in the air. The sun has been making an appearance and the shops and restaurants are open (something that I will never take for granted again).

I, for one, am hoping never to see tracksuits in the shops again.

I was fortunate in lockdown to receive a couple of vouchers for Net-a-Porter and Matches Fashion (clearly I’ve shopped there too regularly in the past). With these I bought some things that had been on my wish list for quite some time:

A blouse from Zimmerman:

I adore Zimmerman; they are so great with their prints and I love their blouses. The ones with the covered buttons and high collars always call to me:

They have such a romantic feel and look great with jeans or linen trousers. The only slight downside is that they tend to be quite sheer. I tend to buy a size 0 as they are quite billowing and could probably go down to a 00.

Of course there are a lot of high-street imitations of Zimmerman but few come close to the detail. It’s worth noting that there are often pieces on The Outnet for 40-50% off here. Anthropologie have a similar style here:

Gucci trainers from Net-a-Porter:

I bought these to replace some white trainers I’ve had for years. I really liked the simplicity of them. I chose Gucci as the other pairs I have are really comfy, fit really well and are nice and slim so look good with both dresses and jeans. I must admit though that this pair do not seem to be the same quality as my others; they are a lot thinner and actually need some ‘breaking-in’, they are also a slightly off-white. I do love them but think I may have sent them back and got an older style, if I had paid full-price for them.

I am so happy that colours and prints are back in! With that and some beautiful sunny weather, I’ve had Summer on my mind and so when I saw this Emporio Sirenuse top at Matches I caved:

It’s such a beautiful colour which I think is exclusive to Matches (link here) and I love the palm embroidery. It also comes in a lemon colour (there are more sizes available on their own website here).

A lot of the bigger name fashion websites are still doing offers occasionally so if you have your eye on something particular it’s worth downloading the mobile app and signing up to their mailing list.

I’ve also bought some white t-shirts from Pieces at ASOS for layering under things. I bought a striped one from this brand last year and it’s really soft and a great shape. I always buy a size S (I’m usually an XS). There aren’t many sizes left on ASOS but I have since found their own website which has loads more colours and sizes to choose from here.

So much for being good and shopping less. I am still trying to buy timeless pieces though and I think all of the above come into that bracket.

Let’s hope we can enjoy this new-found freedom all Summer!
