14 Different Types of Love

Love – It is a set of behaviors and emotions which is characterized by intimacy, attachment, commitment, and passion. The feeling of love involves care, protectiveness, trust, closeness, affection, and attraction. Love may fluctuate in intensity and may change from time to time. It is associated with a range of positive emotions such as satisfaction, joy excitement, and happiness. Thus, it may also result in negative emotions such as stress and jealousy. So,  love is one of the most important human emotions and is still the minimum understood. There is no relationship that exists forever without love. But the love between couples is mainly based on physical relationships.

5. Parental Love – This type of love mainly occurs between children and parents that is characterized by affection, concern, care, acceptance, and comfort.
6. Friendship Love – This type of love involves liking somebody with sharing a certain degree of intimacy. It plays an important role in the life of a person by resolving issues and helping in emergency conditions.
7. Affectionate love – This type of love mainly occurs between children and parents Affectionate love also occurs between family members or friends if both people share the same thoughts and respect for each other and is generally called as ‘’brotherly love’’.
8. Familiar love – This type of love occurs mainly in parents, children, and best friends. Familial love comes immediately and easily in the child and parent relationship.
9. Compassionate love – This type of love is marked by affection intimacy, commitment, attachment, and trust.
10. Infatuation – This type of love may involve an intense feeling of attraction with no sense of commitment. It takes place early in a relationship and can deepen into more lasting love.
11. Romantic love – This type of love involves kissing, hugging, and holding love. It involves a physical or sexual relationship with their partners. Romantic love mainly occurred in couples that play an important role in making a strong relationship between husbands and wives.
12. Unreturned love – This type of love may occur if one individual love another who does not return those feelings.
13. Selfless love – This type of love is the highest level of love that is given without any expectations of receiving anything in return.
14. Physical Love – It is the feeling of platonic love, sexual attraction friendship, or romantic love between people. Physical love involves hugging, holding hands, kissing, and sexual activity that plays an important role in making a strong relationship between couples.
