St. Peter’s Group Seeking Beauty Items for Afghan Refugees

In January, St. Peter’s put a call out for diapers for the families of Afghan refugees in the area. Weston stepped up with donations of diapers and other items, which were gratefully accepted and St Peters wishes to thank everyone involved.

The St Peter’s Church group hosts a weekly Tuesday women’s day in Manchester, New Hampshire. The special day includes pot-luck lunch, an English conversation class, and education on everything from navigating social services to home and food safety to how to operate a carpet shampooer.

This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday, coinciding nicely with women’s day. The group is taking the opportunity to show the Afghan moms some love with goody bags of beauty supplies and self-care items.

Here is an opportunity to purge that drawer full of makeup samples, unwanted perfume, hair products, face and body lotion, mani-pedi items or any other unused beauty supplies.

Note that these need to be “unused’ beauty items so please don’t send on a half-cake of pale blue eye shadow that you realized should have stayed in 1968 where it belonged.

Donations can be dropped off at St.

Peter’s Church, 320 Boston Post Rd. Contact [email protected] for more information. Note that you are welcome to join the group on any Tuesday to meet your new Afghan neighbors!
