Weston Public Schools are well-represented (what’s the euphemism? ‘for a school our size’) in the Massachusetts region of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Please join the Weston Public Schools Art and English departments in celebrating the following students for creating some of the best art and writing in the state.
In art, there were a total of 7,363 entries. They gave out 508 Gold Keys, 733 Silver Keys, and 1119 Honorable Mentions. They received 252 submissions in the Portfolio category of which 18 received Gold Keys, 25 received Silver and, 38 received Honorable Mentions.
In writing, there were 3,170 submissions. They gave out 189 Gold keys, 319 Silver Keys, and 435 Honorable Mentions. There were 49 submissions in the Portfolio category and gave out 3 Gold Keys, 7 Silver Keys, and 10 Honorable Mentions.
All Art Gold Keys are entered in the National Scholastics Competition. Portfolios are submitted only by seniors and awarded for a body of work.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. The Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent and present their remarkable work to the world through the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The Awards give students opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. In 2022, students across the United States and Canada entered more than 260,000 original works in 28 different categories of art and writing.
