Mellors & Kirk will be holding a Single Owner Sale on Tuesday 17th January 2023, from 10am. The thing I like about a single owner sale is that if you and the vendor have similar taste, you’ll find a lot of things of interest and/or to buy at the sale. And that’s the case with this event; there’s lovely jewellery including a number of mourning pieces, beautiful copper items and

A total of 429 lots will be coming under the hammer across three days:

  • Day 1: The Collection of C. W. Briggs (1906-1971)
  • Day 2: Coins, Medals and Stamps
  • Day 3: Fine Books & Manuscripts

After a little bit of online research, I discovered that C. W. Briggs was an antique dealer who is listed as being located on Leicester Road in Loughborough between 1948 & 1951.

The auction house says of their shipping policy:

We do not post fragile items, such as ceramics and glassware, or large items, however we may be able to assist with the packing and postage of small items of jewellery, watches, medals, small pieces of silver, etc.

They do, however, recommend a number of couriers for local, national and international buyers.
