Chinese automaker Geely is rushing to unveil its third electric vehicle under the premium brand Zeekr, with vice president Yang Xueliang teasing it with new pictures on Twitter-like microblogging platform Weibo on Monday. The pictures show a compact sports utility vehicle with a size and design that could see it compete with Volkswagen’s ID.3 electric hatchback. Yang added that the company will debut the car at this year’s Shanghai Auto Show in April and not price it below RMB 200,000 ($29,657) in the hopes of giving it a distinctive high-end positioning in the market. Zeekr currently has two models on sale and plans to launch two new ones this year as the brand aims to deliver 140,000 EVs in 2023. [Yang Xueliang’s Weibo post, in Chinese]
