ted in our Solstice Round Up (scroll down link), since Luis Tilleria’s election as a City of London councillor on undemocratic business votes in March last year, public perception of him has been negative – with the media drawing attention to the fact he has been fined as a ‘rogue landlord’. Likewise, Tilleria’s associates and cronies haven’t been doing well in local City elections either.

That said, it appears the council has done nothing to investigate Tilleria’s activities as a company director at operations such as PW Capital – including setting up new company London Beijing Trading Corporation through PW – while an undischarged bankrupt (and whether he had the permission of the bankruptcy court to do this). For more on Tilleria’s bankruptcy scroll down here.

Instead of investigating matters of reputational concern, if reports by Tilleria and his friends on social media and in minor media outlets they control are to be believed, the council allowed him to hold a knees-up for his ‘gang of chancers’ at the Guildhall on 17 December 2022. Many City voters would be interested to know if Tilleria got the venue for free or at subsidised rates at their expense. Here’s how ‘star turn’ and academic imposter (see below) “Prof.” Chris Imafidon covered the event – and himself as ‘multiple world record holder’ – on his web operation City Standard.

According to the United Nations, December 18 is migrants’ day. But in London, the City of London’s prestigious Guildhall hosted Achievers and other leaders. The chief host, Luis Felipe-Tilleria acknowledged the role of people from different backgrounds. Keynote speeches were given by multiple world record holder, Professor Chris Imafidon and Honorable Harry Sardinas. Award recipients include Engr Chidozie Mbanefo, Executive Governor Udom Emmanuel, Obama foundation, Royal foundation of UK’s Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince’s Trust, More details..(no hyperlink)

Migrants & Leaders Celebrated In City Of London by Prof. (sic) Chris Imafidon, “City Standard” (hosted on fullmail.co.uk), 19 December 2022. See the piece here.

Note the event took place on 17 December 2022 according to Tilleria’s social media posts, not 18 December 2022 as Imafidon’s ‘reportage’ seems to imply. We haven’t yet investigated Engr Chidozie Mbanefo or Udom Emmanuel but we covered Harry Sardinas in a previous post on Tilleria (scroll down) – who as far as we know doesn’t merit the prefix Honourable that Imafidon adds to his name.

The main point of Tilleria’s 17 December 2022 Guildhall event seems to have been to sell the fake ‘professor’ Chris Imafidon’s dubious educational materials to anyone credulous enough to buy into his claims about himself and the success of his methods. A board advertising Imafidon’s bunk was placed next to the speaker’s lectern at the Guildhall knees-up. In the photo above, Tilleria and Imafidon (right) – with a couple of chancer chums – pose in front of this promotional material.

The Nigerian news outlet Punch exposed Imafidon as a fraud back in 2017, shortly after being scammed by him over his academic credentials:

Our records show that Chris Imafidon has no affiliation with Oxford University or any of its colleges or departments – Varsity’s media relations manager

The University of Oxford has disclaimed that a Nigerian, Chris Imafidon is a professor at the university.

Saturday PUNCH on November 18, 2017, published an interview in which Imafidon claimed that he had overcome autism to achieve greatness and that no child was born with an inferior gene. The interview went viral on the web, where his rich profile abounds and appears at every search of his name.

Questions were raised by concerned members of the public after the publication of the interview.

Local and some international media have described Imafidon as a professor at Oxford University and at other times, as a professor of University of Oxford (Keble College). However, in their responses to Saturday PUNCH’s enquiries, University of Oxford and one of its independent constituent institutions, Keble College, denied having any connection with him.

Over the last two weeks, Saturday PUNCH has then made several efforts to get Imafidon to substantiate his purported link with the Oxford University or Keble College.

Saturday PUNCH, had, in a series of emails sent to the University of Oxford, requested to know Imafidon’s connection to the school.

The school, in its response sent by Lanisha of its News and Information office, responded, saying: “Thank you for your email. Our records show that Chris Imafidon has no affiliation with Oxford University or any of its colleges or departments. I hope this information is what you are after; please let us know if we can be of any further help.”

A similar response from the school’s Media Relations Manager, Dr. Julia Paolitto, said, “Thank you for your email. Our records show that Chris Imafidon has no affiliation with Oxford University or any of its colleges or departments. I hope this information is what you are after, please do let us know if we can be of any further help.”

The University of Oxford has 38 colleges, which it described on its website as “financially independent and self-governing, but relate to the central university in a kind of federal system.”

And since Keble College (University of Oxford), which Imafidon has also claimed to identify with, is one of the 38 independent colleges affiliated with the Oxford University; therefore, Saturday PUNCH sent another email directly to the college.

Saturday PUNCH, in the email, requested to know if Imafidon had lectured at any time in the school or had any affiliation whatsoever with it.

A response from the school by its Communications Manager, Boriana Boneva, said the “only formal connection between Chris Imafidon and the College of which we are aware is that his daughter was a student here.”

As noted in a previous post (scroll down), there are also questions still to be answered in relation to Tilleria and his associate Angelica Wagner’s claims of academic achievement. Wagner is visible in photos of the 17 December 2022 Guildhall knees-up posted by Tilleria on his Facebook profile.

Screenshot of page on fullmail.co.uk website listing “Professor” Chris Imafidon as chief editor. Note the address, 31 Bowsprit Point, was the registered office address for Luis Tilleria’s Level 33 Limited (dissolved 2014). An examination of Checksin company records also show other links to Tilleria’s circle.

Also hosted on the fullmail.co.uk website – alongside Imafidon’s City Standard recycled news outlet – is Young Pro. This appears to operate in a similar way to Kendal Summer Ltd, which we analysed in an earlier post (scroll down). As we detailed with regard to Kendall Summer, the jobs ‘on offer‘ are unlikely to be what them seem and many are clearly connected to operations we’ve already documented as run by Tilleria and his ‘gang of chancers’ including London Beijing Trading Corporation, Movimiento del Migrante, Landlords Club and Speakers & Leaders.

Like Tilleria, Imafidon seems to jump at any opportunity to cause reputational damage to the City of London council by associating himself with it. The tweet below of Tijs Broeke welcoming Chris Imafidon and his daughter Anne-Marie Imafidon to the Guildhall is one of a series of photos that have also appeared alongside misleading press coverage of this academic imposter in Nigeria’s Global Patriot News.

Below: Tilleria uses PR website IssueWire to circulate a misleading non-story about himself and Baroness Scotland, note the caption on the photo of the event which shows a picture of Baroness Scotland and Kenneth Olisa, who is wrongly identified as Tilleria. Tilleria subsequently substituted this picture for another. Our screenshot is of the release as it originally appeared.

We suspect the City of London council is afraid to do anything about Luis Tilleria and his ‘gang of chancers’ attempting to use his election in Billingsgate to legitimise their dubious activities. Addressing this matter might drag our local authority’s undemocratic business vote system and other rotten borough features under a spotlight – as well as draw attention to unresolved conflict of interest questions that swirl around figures like its civic leader Chris Hayward and others. Nearly a year on from Tilleria’s ‘election’ as a councillor, the Corporation’s failure to speak out – let alone take action – about the way this chancer and his associates have been causing it reputational damage, signals clearly enough how desperately it’s entire structure requires democratic reform.

Below and header: photo showing that there were 30 odd people attending Tilleria’s 17 December 2022 Guildhall event, with pretty much all of them crowded into this particular shot. Many more pictures showing the same faces were posted by Tilleria on social media.
