  1. I remember watching petrol station workers in Pakistan. The workers would stand there all day outside breathing in fumes. It makes you sad but also angry. People deserve better.

  2. this is why US and all developed nation outsourced textile industry to developing nations, keep your own backyard clean, who cares what happens to your neighbor.

  3. As a migrant living in Australia, it gives me very disappointment after seeing the living standards here in Australia and in my homecity Faisalabad. These people deserve to have atleast healthy environment and healthy drinking water. The elite class living in pakistan drink imported water and people who run country are getting unhealthy water. If this happens here in Australia, who government would be accountable.

  4. I have been living in Faisalabad from the past 18 years & I have to agree that the water quality in this city has been getting worse as the time passes.I remember when we were able to drink ground water without any filtration but now it’s contaminated to an extent that you don’t want to wash your face with it.
Luckily the government provided water is much better than that but still not drinkable so we have to purchase water from a filtration plant which is not in everyone’s budget

  5. There are laws for everything in Pakistan, especially when they called themself Muslims and Islamic country but bribe and greed becomes the priority over everything!

  6. This is a problem of government corruption not fast fashion. This problem is solved by water treatment plants in the factory but to save money the factory owner don’t have them and pay bribe to authorities. My family makes water treatment system for textile industry in India so I know about this issue.

  7. Back in America, family members have been contaminated water with PFAS. This specific case was because the neighbouring military base used a firefighter foam that included the “forever’ chemical (about 5 towns involved in just this little accident)

I’m unable to check on their update but they too have been living years (about 30-40 years) with it, drinking that chemical. The state and government have been ignoring it for ages and even denied the existence of PFAS

I think they are slowly working on it now for about 10 years. I’m pretty sure everyone who used it will die before anything resolves it completely for the future

Sure the government has acknowledged it now but I use this scenario because I wonder how it’ll ever get worked on in Pakistan. I feel so bad decisions like these hurt so many innocent people.

  8. How is the country going to leave poverty if it’s people will have problems with its water quality. Govt is too corrupt to care. As long its officials are sorted its all good for now. SubhanAllah May Allah help Pakistan and bless its people
