Which plugins do you need on your site? Well, at a minimum we recommend only 2. And beyond that, we usually recommend that you use as few as you need to do what you want your site to do. Most WordPress sites get overloaded with plugins, leading to bloated code, slow page loading speeds, and security vulnerabilities. Don’t make that mistake. Stick to the plugins you actually need. 1. I already know I missed several “sometimes” plugins. One that comes to mind is a plugin for embedding video. You don’t need one, since Gutenberg has a block for it and you could always just embed an iframe even in the classic editor. But Presto Player (https://prestoplayer.com/) has some really cool features that make it my go-to for any of my sites where I embed videos.

What other plugins do you love that we didn’t cover?

    1. I had a big problem recently in elementor where different video plugins and they weren’t showing on the page when published

  2. Caching plugin. I prefer Litespeed but that’s on a case by case basis. However, Autoptimize or WP Rocket are good options.

  3. Did you speed up the video? Seems like someone tried to cut the video time but did that by increasing the speed by 20%? A little distracting
    😀

  4. The only reason I’m hesitant to completely remove comment functionality is that it seems like it would help with SEO to have people actively engaging with content. Do comments have an impact on SEO?

    1. They can be helpful for SEO if you can get real, engaging comments. This can definitely be done, but most of the informational content in our blogs doesn’t lend itself to many comments and comments sections attract a ton of spam so you just have to decide if it’s worth your time to properly moderate and to incentivize in your content.

    2. @Income School Yeah good point. I personally would prefer to have them off as well, but wasn’t sure how much it contributes. Thanks 👍

  5. If I use Kajabi for my blog? do I need all these plug-ins And if so do they work the same with that site? Also what are your thoughts on that site platform for a blog

  6. bloody dreadful video : two obese dudes sitting on a couch so much in love of themselves that showing what they’re babbling about seems irrelevant to their eyes – say for instance for the wp manage, I had to scroll back to the few seconds were it was on screen, to find the tinu tiny tiny logo of the product they were mentioning – not everybodÿ have english as a first language (am Morrocan) and could guess the right spelling.
